Today I decided to make my own Valentine's Day cards! Why today? I'm not sure…perhaps I was inspired by so many other people posting V-day paraphernalia. Also, because I got a new fancy printer for Christmas which now gives me the capability to print anything my heart desires and stationery happens to be one of them! Yes, that's right, I can now make personalized stationery for you. That means any illustration can be turned into one of kind notecards. Oh, happy day! This printer has changed the name of the game. Hooray! The new and improved Rebecca Hinson Art website has launched! Obviously if you are reading this blog then you are on the new site...Welcome!!! Who knew one could get so excited about a website. I guess in 2015 this is the kind of thing we get excited about, right? This new website has it's own art galleries for oil paintings and illustrations; a complete e-commerce shop; an art blog; and more! I couldn't be more happy with it. A couple of months ago Lela Rose had a fashion show in NYC. Of course I was not there (I wish). So how did I know about a Lela Rose fashion show you ask? One word, Instagram. The holy grail of all social media sites (at least in my eyes at this point) was flooded with photos from the Spring 2015 show. And WOW! How inspiring her Ready-to-Wear was and is! So I will not try to hide it, when it comes to bows I am like a 6 year old little girl. Ok, truth be told there are actually quite a few similarities between me and the most perfect childhood age but we won't get into those. The one I'm speaking about today is bows. I love bows! All types! And I can't think of a better place for a bow than on an amazing pair of pumps! There are of course an abundance of things in life that make me extremely happy. I'd like to share some of my top favs: 1. any type of furry baby animal. 2. spring and summer months (the hotter the better, I don't care! I love it!) and 3. any dress that has pockets. Pockets on a dress are key. They are perfect for keeping your lipgloss handy or heck, you can just go completely purse free and stash everything in there! Why winter? Why? Why do you do this to me? Actually arrive that is! I cannot believe how cold it is. O.K., I know, I know. It is winter time, but this is the south and generally speaking our winters are pretty mild. So let's just hope that this arctic freeze leaves us soon! While I've been completely bundled, wearing all my outdoor winter fashion attire inside the studio, I did a few sketches to reflect this cold weather. Yes, we have heat in here, but this cold chills me to my bones and I'm having a hard time warming up. Here is to positive/warm thoughts!..
