Columbia Airport Art Exhibit Year 2

in Art Exhibits & Events .

So it happened again! I am pleased to say I was chosen for the second year in a row as one of the "Peoples Choice" artists at the Columbia Museum of Art Contemparies Art Gala. While the gala actually happened a few months ago, I'm writing about it now because we just set up the exhibit in the Columbia Metropolitan Airport which came along with being chosen as a fan favorite or top seller at the event. I am so honored to have been chosen again and have this opportunity! Thanks Columbia Contemporaries' and obviously the people who voted for my work!  Derek and I headed to the Capitol Cit..

Charleston Cup 2015

in New Artwork .

Another year of the Charleston Cup has come and gone and this year was certainly one for the books. A little rain, cold, and mud couldn't get us down! Well, maybe a tiny bit...I was freezing! No, seriously. My lips turned blue at one point. Granted I am the most cold natured person on the planet but still...Pants would have been a good idea but beauty is pain, right?  This year I was commissioned by the awesome peps at Snyder Events to illustrate a scene from the Cup of which would grace the back of this years tshirts. They had the vision, I just brought it to life. Below are some pics..

Wedding Season in Charleston

in New Artwork .

Is there really a "wedding season" in Charleston these days? Perhaps there are some months that there are more weddings, but it seems people flock here year round to tie the knot. in New Artwork, Artwork in Progress .

Well, at the beginning of this summer I certainly had all intentions of blogging more, but I think a lot of brides (past and future) will agree that wedding planning takes a lot! A lot time and energy that is. I never dreamed of all the random decisions that would need to be made. And these are things no one can decide for you. Well, maybe they can but I am not that type of person. However, I will say I can see the light! Perhaps even multiple lights at the end of this tunnel. We are now less than 4 weeks away from the big day. I feel some what overwhelmed that it's so close but super excited ..

Olde Wide Awake Plantation Wedding Gift Commission

in New Artwork .

Trying to find the perfect wedding gift is always a difficult decision. One can choose something from the couples wedding registry but if you want something super unique you have to think outside the box. Now, I'm not saying artwork is necessarily "outside the box", but my recent commission is certainly special! This particular bride and groom were getting married at the stunning Olde Wide Awake Plantation. Their mothers contacted me several months back and wanted an oil painting of the plantation to surprise their kids. Also, before they presented the painting they wanted to get the whole wed..
