Utah Mountain Wedding

in New Artwork, Art Studio, Art Exhibits & Events .

Creating wedding illustrations with pets involved never gets old. I’m not sure who stole the show more of this Park City, Utah wedding, the furry friend, back drop, gorgeous couple, or that insane floral arch? Wow! It’s a toss up I suppose. Needless to say this must have been an amazing day for the happy couple and their guests!..

My Best Friends Wedding

in New Artwork, Art Exhibits & Events .

Working on wedding art is one of my favorites! The client (bride) usually knows exactly what she wants and I just help bring it to life. When my best friend and roommate for almost 6 years, Emily, got engaged, I was thrilled (and hoping) she wanted me to do the art! Perhaps you already guessed it, it's a beach wedding. Even more exciting is the reception is at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. How cool is that!? We started with the wedding logo that ties in the two main colors, firecracker coral and a light green. The wedding itself will take place in Beaufort, not far from Pine Knolls, in a beautiful historic church. My husband and I are driving up Thursday am to start the wedding weekend early. I can't wait to begin celebrating Emily and Matt!!  The main logo with the bride and grooms initials. The wedding map includes all the important locations for the wedding weekend. ..

Girls Weekend and Equestrian Art

in New Artwork, Art Exhibits & Events .

What's better than playing with ponies? Playing with ponies with friends! A few weekends ago I was in Ocala, Florida celebrating the upcoming wedding of my bestie, Ashley Cline, owner of EquestrianStylist.com. Her family has a horse farm there so a bunch of us girls met for some rest/relaxation surrounded by green pastures, ponies, and a bunch of other furry friends. I was in heaven! We played with chickens (yes, chickens), laid by the pool, and had a photoshoot dressed in a our best derbyesque attire. New York City milliner, Christine A. Moore, sent Ashley some gorgeous hats and Ash's mom, Kathy, is a fantastic photographer so we had everything needed for a perfect shoot. Everything was of course equestrian themed. Right down to the napkins of which were adorned with a logo I created for Ashley's wedding invitations.  This was the first time I had been to Ocala which felt like Kentucky plus palm trees and moss.  Playing with chickens might not sound like the most common activity, but let me tell you...it's awesome! There were a bunch of different varieties; those girls were gorgeous!  The flowers in the garden were also exceptionally gorg. Especially this passion flower. I need! This was certainly the type of "bachelorette weekend" I prefer. Sunshine and stress free!      Below is a glimpse at the wedding suite for Ashley and Andy. First and foremost was of course the logo which was included in so many places (even the wedding cake is going to be graced with it!). I also illustrated the church in Winter Park which was placed on the formal invites. And obvi you need a map to let your guests know where all the festivites will be located.  Can't wait to see all these girls again in just a few short weeks!  xoxo,     ..

Columbia Airport Art Exhibit Year 2

in Art Exhibits & Events .

So it happened again! I am pleased to say I was chosen for the second year in a row as one of the "Peoples Choice" artists at the Columbia Museum of Art Contemparies Art Gala. While the gala actually happened a few months ago, I'm writing about it now because we just set up the exhibit in the Columbia Metropolitan Airport which came along with being chosen as a fan favorite or top seller at the event. I am so honored to have been chosen again and have this opportunity! Thanks Columbia Contemporaries' and obviously the people who voted for my work!  Derek and I headed to the Capitol City Wednesday morning for installation and it ended up being a super fun day. Two of the other artists were there to install their work as well, Ron Hagell and JC Gowdy. The exhibit is displayed in the main lobby near the United Airlines departures and will be there until September. Check it out if you happen to be traveling out of Columbia!  ..

Paintings displayed at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport

in New Artwork, Art Exhibits & Events .

Everything is all set up and my paintings are now on display at the Columbia Metropolitan Airport for the next three months! It is super exciting to be able to say my artwork is hanging in the airport. Now I just to need to schedule a trip so I can go check it out again. ;-) The pieces are set up in the main walkway just after TSA, as you walk towards the terminals. Each column has a piece of work from one of winners that participarted in the Contemporaries gala back in February. I painted three new pieces for the exhibit which included one of my classic "Sweet Tea" mason jars, a Charleston basket lady (similar basket lady), and a rooster (seemed appropriate for the Gamecock country). You can read more about the exhibit here and be sure to check it out if you find yourself in the Columbia Airport (traveling to some exciting place I hope).  ..
