A Night at the Columbia Museum Gala

in Art Exhibits & Events .

This past weekend I had the honor & pleasure of attending the annual art gala at the Columbia Museum of Art hosted by the Contemporaries, an organization of young professinals involved in the Columbia art community. The gala was called the Black Jack Ball and naturally was Vegas themed. We were even given $25,000 at the door to gamble away at the various casino tables! Ok, so obviously it wasn't real money, but what a fun idea. Clearly, I am not a gambler beacuse I was nervous and learly of even spending my so called 'monopoly' money at the tables. I suppose that's one reason why Vegas nev..

Valentine's Day Cards 2015

in New Artwork .

Today I decided to make my own Valentine's Day cards! Why today? I'm not sure…perhaps I was inspired by so many other people posting V-day paraphernalia. Also, because I got a new fancy printer for Christmas which now gives me the capability to print anything my heart desires and stationery happens to be one of them! Yes, that's right, I can now make personalized stationery for you. That means any illustration can be turned into one of kind notecards. Oh, happy day! This printer has changed the name of the game. Southern Meets Chic

in New Artwork .

Who doesn’t love a good blogger? An exceptional blogger is hard to come by. One whose entries don’t take 3 hours to read (sorry to the long winded bloggers…I just don’t have time for that). One with lots of good photo content (I’m super visual obvisouly)…And of course an immaculate fashion sense. Brittany of Southern Meets Chic is just that blogger. Her looks are on point and precisely what the title suggests…southern combined with the crème de la crème of chicness. Southern fashion is a curious creature indeed. I like to think we take the best from all areas of the country. Add a little bit o..

Lela Rose Fashion Show

in New Artwork .

A couple of months ago Lela Rose had a fashion show in NYC. Of course I was not there (I wish). So how did I know about a Lela Rose fashion show you ask? One word, Instagram. The holy grail of all social media sites (at least in my eyes at this point) was flooded with photos from the Spring 2015 show. And WOW! How inspiring her Ready-to-Wear was and is! Above is my favorite from that night. 'Look 36', you are so darn beautiful! All my favorite colors wrapped into once whimsical gown. Oh, how I wish you were hanging in my closet! ..

Bow Pumps Fashion Illustration

in New Artwork .

So I will not try to hide it, when it comes to bows I am like a 6 year old little girl. Ok, truth be told there are actually quite a few similarities between me and the most perfect childhood age but we won't get into those. The one I'm speaking about today is bows. I love bows! All types! And I can't think of a better place for a bow than on an amazing pair of pumps! Designer Aminah Abdul-Jillil has created one of the most perfect bow pumps and they come in all different vibrant colors and patterns. I'll take two pairs, please. ..
