It is no secret that I'm a coffee lover. Needless to say, I go to "the coffee shop" almost everyday. Where is this coffee shop located? Almost 20 steps away from my studio. Conveniant, no? City Lights Coffee is like home to me. So it's not surprising that this is the 4th time I have displayed my work there. Yes, my artwork is in City Lights Coffee for the whole month of March. This time I am displaying only illustrations. There is a bit of everything...elephants, coffee cups (naturally), coffee drinking fashionistas (again, very appropriate), and Charleston sailor girls, just to name a few. Check it out when you're in the Market and King Street area. Also, don't hestitate to pop up in my studio and say "hi"; it's just around the corner! :-)     ..

This past weekend I had the honor & pleasure of attending the annual art gala at the Columbia Museum of Art hosted by the Contemporaries, an organization of young professinals involved in the Columbia art community. The gala was called the Black Jack Ball and naturally was Vegas themed. We were even given $25,000 at the door to gamble away at the various casino tables! Ok, so obviously it wasn't real money, but what a fun idea. Clearly, I am not a gambler beacuse I was nervous and learly of even spending my so called 'monopoly' money at the tables. I suppose that's one reason why Vegas never really appealed to me.  The party had a silent auction going on throughtout night of which I donated 3 oil paintings (notice them behind us in the top picture) and I am so excited to say that my "Lowcountry Love" (oyster) painting was voted a fan favorite of the night! Even more exciting is because of that I get to display my work in the Columbia Airport! If you happen to be traveling through the Cola airport in the month of March be on the lookout for some Rebecca Hinson Art on the walls! :) Congrats to the other winners of the night and special thanks to everyone who helped put together such a lovely evening! My good friend, Gillian, at Coastal Bride recently used some of my illustrations for her blog site. The post included the most adorable DIY "Will you be my bridesmaid?" gift box that Gillian put together. Apparently, this is a newish thing for brides-to-be to give to their chosen bridesmaid. I was completely unaware of this extra little detail that has now been added to the modern day wedding to-do list, but I must say they are pretty awesome! Gillian used a couple of my bridal illustration notecards along with some other goodies including macaroons from Macaroon Boutique (my fav!), Fig + Yarrow bath salts, festive paper straws, and some sparking wine from Sofia Mia. What girl wouldn't love to get one of these? Especially if it looked like the one below! ..

I recently collaborated with Equestrian Stylist to create a one of a kind illustration for their ad campaign for the 2014 Hampton Classic Horse Show August 24-31 in New York. We also worked together to design a boutique vendor  and stable row vendor map. I must say, this horse girl might be one of my favorite illustrations yet! What a fabulous event to be able to attend!? Maybe I can go next year...fascinator and all!     ..

Last month I was contacted by the ladies at SHE magazine wanting to know if I would be their featured artist for the month of July and of course I said yes! I'm still not entirely sure how they found out/saw my work, but oh well! You can pick up the magazine throughout the Pee Dee and Grand Strand region of South Carolina.
