A couple of months ago Lela Rose had a fashion show in NYC. Of course I was not there (I wish). So how did I know about a Lela Rose fashion show you ask? One word, Instagram. The holy grail of all social media sites (at least in my eyes at this point) was flooded with photos from the Spring 2015 show. And WOW! How inspiring her Ready-to-Wear was and is! Above is my favorite from that night. 'Look 36', you are so darn beautiful! All my favorite colors wrapped into once whimsical gown. Oh, how I wish you were hanging in my closet! ..

So I will not try to hide it, when it comes to bows I am like a 6 year old little girl. Ok, truth be told there are actually quite a few similarities between me and the most perfect childhood age but we won't get into those. The one I'm speaking about today is bows. I love bows! All types! And I can't think of a better place for a bow than on an amazing pair of pumps! Designer Aminah Abdul-Jillil has created one of the most perfect bow pumps and they come in all different vibrant colors and patterns. I'll take two pairs, please. ..

There are of course an abundance of things in life that make me extremely happy. I'd like to share some of my top favs: 1. any type of furry baby animal. 2. spring and summer months (the hotter the better, I don't care! I love it!) and 3. any dress that has pockets. Pockets on a dress are key. They are perfect for keeping your lipgloss handy or heck, you can just go completely purse free and stash everything in there! Needless to say the inclusion of pockets on dresses was a pretty simple yet genius idea. That being said, I recently saw a post of a Lulakate bridal gown and noticed it had pockets. It seems they certainly have the right idea. A wedding dress with pockets?!?! I can hear the angels singing now. Why winter? Why? Why do you do this to me? Actually arrive that is! I cannot believe how cold it is. O.K., I know, I know. It is winter time, but this is the south and generally speaking our winters are pretty mild. So let's just hope that this arctic freeze leaves us soon! While I've been completely bundled, wearing all my outdoor winter fashion attire inside the studio, I did a few sketches to reflect this cold weather. Yes, we have heat in here, but this cold chills me to my bones and I'm having a hard time warming up. Here is to positive/warm thoughts!..

I cannot believe it is already 2015! I am certainly looking forward to what this year has to bring. And while I am anything but a winter person (far from it really), there are a few details that come along with this cold, harsh season that I actually like. One of those being oysters and of course the always anticipated oyster roast. A lowcountry oyster roast is definitely a fun affair and certainly a fashionable one.
