About Rebecca Hinson

Rebecca C. Hinson is a Lowcountry artist living in Charleston, South Carolina who specializes in oil paintings of southern scenes, historic architecture, and cheerful animals.

Rebecca was raised on her family's bicentennial farm in the Pee Dee region of SC where she developed a close connection with nature. She draws inspiration from her upbringing in the rural South and the beauty and charm of the Charleston area.

Rebecca's passion for art enticed her to live and study in Rome. The rich Italian culture inspired her to develop her free and bold artistic style. The Italian country and scenery drew her back to her favorite subjects of the American South.

More recently, Rebecca has found inspiration from the energy in a vibrant luscious color palate and painting lighthearted playful characters. She can be found painting in her studio located in downtown Charleston at 193 King Street.
